Artificial intelligence (AI) is a specialized branch of computer science that aims to create machines with capabilities that mimic or simulate human intelligence. The main task of AI is to give machines the intellectual abilities to understand language, learn, analyze, reason and plan.
Classification of artificial intelligence
Narrow AI (weak AI). A form of AI with limited functionality. It focuses on specific tasks, such as voice recognition, and does not cover the full range of human cognitive abilities.
General AI (strong AI). A form of AI suitable for solving any intellectual tasks that a human is capable of performing. Such AI has the potential to understand, learn, and apply knowledge to a wide range of tasks.
The fundamental principles of AI
Machine learning. A method by which AI systems learn from data, identify patterns and make decisions with minimal human intervention.
Neural networks. Computing systems based on neural networks of the human brain. They are designed to replicate how a person learns and processes information.
