CDMA

CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) is a mobile communication standard, the identification of channel connections in which is carried out by special codes. The data passing through the channel is encoded into a broadband signal.

Features

  • High-quality signal without interference, the number of communication failures is minimized.
  • Increased network capacity.
  • Higher data transfer rate.
  • Lower power of harmful radiation.
  • The security of the transmitted data.

CDMA channels

CDMA channels are divided into forward and reverse.

In a direct channel, communication between cells is carried out via a downlink. There are several direct channels:

  • The pilot signal. The base channel whose signal is transmitted to each CDMA frequency.
  • The synchronization channel constantly transmits the same system configuration and time data.
  • The paging channel sends notifications to the mobile station about an incoming call.
  • Traffic channel – code channels that assign calls, signal and voice traffic to specific network users.

Reverse channel – communication between devices via an uplink:

  • The access channel provides communication between mobile stations and the base station, as well as for responding to paging channel signals.
  • The traffic channel allows users to use it to transfer the signal from the device to the base stations.

CDMA is used for data transmission in mobile networks and for radio systems.
